Tuesday, December 30. 2008 If this is how vacation is, I'd rather be at workPosted by Running Chick in Sick, VacationComment (1) | Trackbacks (0) I've been sick since December 13th. Today is the 30th. For you math-challenged folks, that's 18 days. I finally couldn't take it anymore and went to my doctor this morning. As I suspected, I have a sinus and ear infection and I get to take antibiotics for the next 10 days. It'll take two or three days for the antibiotics to kick in so by the time I'm feeling better, it'll be time for me to go back to work on January 5th. Yay! This has been the worst vacation in the history of vacations. Saturday, December 27. 2008 Despite both Josh and I suffering through nasty colds and a migraine (me), our Christmas was relaxing and stress free this year compared to previous years. I attribute it all to the fact that we didn't travel this year as we did in years past. Traveling over the holidays is a royal pain in the ass - it's expensive, the weather usually is horrible, people are crabby and nothing ever turns out the way people expect it to. For those reasons, I highly recommend staying at home and doing what we've been doing - sitting on our butts, eating naughty food and watching reruns of Star Trek. You just can't go wrong!
Saturday, December 27. 2008 Taken from www.sfgate.com Michigan city bans being annoying in public Ticking someone off could get you a ticket in one Michigan city. The Brighton City Council on Thursday approved an ordinance allowing police in the Livingston County community to ticket and fine anyone who is annoying in public "by word of mouth, sign or motions." The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports the measure is modeled on a similar ordinance in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak. A city attorney says there could be situations where the measure would violate freedom of speech, but that those cases will be reviewed by the city. |
